Where thoughts hit the page, sometimes sticking but mostly falling in lyrical rhyme or nonsensical chatter from the monkeys in my head. Who can ever say? I try to leave it all on the floor.
Why do I write – To some degree I think it is in my DNA. My entire family writes. It is oxygen for my soul but it has been a rocky journey, this love affair of mine with words. I did get lucky, I came in with an imagination that really never lets me stray from its grasp which is great for building new worlds and delving into characters. There is something magical in creating a landscape and then watching as characters flesh it out with their own words and desires. Sometimes I am the puppeteer but mostly I am the puppet.
Where do my ideas come from – Dream bunnies and I borrow a lot. Ideas are easy, implementing them, pulling them into shape, turning them into something, there is my problem.
Panster or Plotter – Once upon a time I would have said I don’t write with a plot or outline in mind. That got me into writer hell, which I do not recommend. I am still a panster at heart. I plot out a rough outline and leave room for character takeovers. As long as I control the plotting reigns and loosely work off of it, the story is free to be born.
